Blue-green foliage and pale, silvery seed heads give this Texas bunchgrass a presence beyond the flowering season. Place it where its fountain-like shape has room to show.
Give it space. Published height ranges run roughly two to six feet. Ask a local grower about the particular plants you are buying.
Sun and drainage. Choose full sun and well-drained soil. Too much shade, water or richness can make foliage flop; poor drainage can contribute to root and crown rot.
Ask for Muhlenbergia lindheimeri. Leave foliage through winter, then identify the grass before following generic pruning instructions.
