Just off Water Street in Kerrville, a new culinary gem has emerged from humble beginnings. Vecinos Cafe, which translates to “Neighbors Cafe,” embodies the spirit of community and shared flavors that define the Texas Hill Country.

Owners Michele Pitman and Gerardo Martinez began their journey selling homemade salsa at Kerrville Market Days in the summer of 2021. Their passion for authentic Mexican cuisine quickly garnered local acclaim, leading them to expand into a food truck named Vecinos Fruteria y Cocina.

By July 2024, Michele and Gerardo took a significant step forward, opening Vecinos Cafe at 804 Water Street. The cafe offers an inviting atmosphere where the rich aromas of traditional Mexican cooking greet you at the door. The menu features beloved favorites from their food truck days, now complemented by an expanded selection of dishes that pay homage to their heritage.
