A spring weekend around Wimberley can be an opportunity to slow down, take a scenic drive and look for the Hill Country’s bluebonnets. The flowers follow the season’s conditions rather than a fixed festival calendar.

In its February 22, 2026 Hill Country bluebonnet guide, Wimberley lodging business The Lazy Lavender describes late March through mid-April as a typical viewing window. It points to Ranch Road 12 and FM 2325 as routes to explore around Wimberley, while emphasizing that rainfall affects the display.

Treat those suggestions as starting points, not a promise of flowers at a particular spot. Keep plans flexible, check recent local reports and consider a quieter weekday visit.

For photographs, choose a safe, legal place to park and keep roads and driveways clear. Respect private property, stay out of planted or fenced areas without permission, and avoid trampling flowers. There is no need to step into a field to enjoy the view.

Leave time for Wimberley’s shops, food stops and outdoor spaces, so the trip offers something to enjoy whatever the flowers are doing.
